Introduction
Montmorency LLP (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to transparency in how we collect, use, store, and share user data. This Privacy Policy explains how we process data when you use our software and services (“Services”). By using our Services, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this Policy.
Scope
This Policy applies to all users of Montmorency LLP’s software, including our macOS application. This Policy applies primarily to users located in India.
Categories of Data Collected
Continuous screen recordings (full display capture), keystroke event data (key press events; not intended to capture typed text content), mouse activity including clicks, cursor movement, and cursor position. Recording may pause automatically after periods of inactivity.
Application usage patterns, session duration and activity timing, interaction metadata.
Important Disclosure Regarding Sensitive Data
Our Services collect screen recordings, clipboard data, and interaction data. Montmorency LLP operates a multi-layered privacy masking system that automatically detects and masks sensitive content before it is stored or processed. This includes real-time password and secure input field detection, automatic blocking of sensitive applications (password managers, authenticators, cryptocurrency wallets), detection of private messaging apps and social media direct messages, camera and video call detection, and keyword-based detection of login, checkout, and payment flows. When any privacy trigger is activated, recording is immediately paused and affected frames are dropped at the capture level. Users may also configure additional applications to be excluded. While these safeguards are comprehensive and actively maintained, users should exercise caution when handling highly confidential information such as classified documents or regulated data not covered by automated detection.
How Data is Collected
Data is collected when the application is active or running in the background, automatically during usage sessions, and upon system startup (where enabled). Users may manually stop or pause certain forms of data collection.
